Nintendo Details Game-Breaking Skyward Sword Bug

It looks like Skyrim isn’t the only epic adventure to get released with bugs and glitches. Nintendo has revealed details on a particular nasty bug present in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. It occurs around 20 hours into the game. Once it has happened players won’t be able to progress any further and will be forced to start the game again (unless they have an earlier save, of course).

Here’s what Nintendo had to say about the bug. The below text does contain minor spoilers:

The bug only happens if you complete the Song of the Hero quests in a certain order:

1. At the beginning of the quest, go to Lanayru Desert to retrieve the song of the Thunder Dragon.

2. In the Lanayru Mine, speak with Golo the Goron.

3. Complete the Thunder Dragon’s event, and receive his song.

4. Before heading to the forest or volcano regions, speak with Golo in the mine again.

5. At this point, the forest and volcano events will no longer occur, making it impossible to continue.

So, the important thing is to NOT go to the Lanayru Desert first when you start the Song of the Hero quest. This bug really is unfortunate as Wii games aren’t known to get updated with patches. Hopefully Nintendo will work out a way to get it fixed soon.

Lol, I really dodged a bullet with that one. I did Faron woods first, as it seemed like the most natural choice. (nature-al, lol)
